Apply through your stencil with a makeup sponge or dauber
Lift the stencil and allow surface to dry
In the meantime, wash adhesive off of stencil with warm, soapy water
Once the adhesive is dry (it will be sticky, but the adhesive will no longer lift when touched) apply the foil shiny side up to the area where the adhesive is applied.
Make sure to maximize the surface area of the foil, by moving the application around to use up every square inch
