4 Ways to Hang Wood Signs

ou've painted this amazing sign, now what? We get asked very often how hang the projects you've created. 

We've got some ideas for you! 

1. Command Strips - This is what we use the most! We cut each strip into thirds, put two small strips without the pull tab on the back of the sign - in the top corners. Then put two strips with the pull tab on top of that. Remove the sticky protector from the pull tab strips, and place where you want on the wall. Use a pocket sized level to make sure your sign is straight. The push onto the wall. Voila! 

2. Stapler - We love this method for using a rope to hang your projects. We recommend using a small piece of a command strip and staple into that so the staple doesn't go through the front of your project. You may have to staple through the rope or loop the rope so the rope doesn't slide. 

3. Drill Holes - This is a great option if you want to hang your project with rope or ribbon and want to add a little pop and embellishment to the front of your projects. 

Here are some tips to using the drill for these projects:

• Measure where you will drill your holes and mark your surface
• Make sure you have the right size bit on your drill
• Use a backer board, a scrap board, to put underneath your project. This will help prevent the back of the board from blowing out when you drill your hole.
• Position the drillbit where the marks are
• Turn on the drill
• Lower the handle and drill your hole
• Turn off the drill
• Remove your surface

4. Metal Hangers  - If you already have a screw on your wall and want to hang your project in the same spot, this is a great option. We like to use sawtooth hangers with wire nails and use a small coaster foot as a spacer so the nail doesn't go through the front of your project.
